Industry-Institute Interaction Cell  

Industry-Institute Interaction Cell is functioning in this college as a forum for interaction between industries and the college, for mutual benefit. Industry can help the institution by sponsoring R & D activities and providing placement to deserving candidates. The testing and laboratory facilities in the college can be utilized by the industries for their day-to-day needs. Further, the innovative ideas of the students can be pooled for commercial application. It will also help the industries to keep abreast with the developments in the field of Science, Engineering and technology. A committee consisting of representatives from industry and the faculty monitors the activities of the Cell. It is maintaining close liaison with the district Industries and financial institutions.


 Continuing Education Centre   

s a sub-centre of the Centre for Continuing Education under Govt. of Kerala, the Continuing Education Centre (CEC) is functioning in our institution. Prof. Jancy Paul of MCA is the Manager of CEC. The objectives of CEC are:

1.To impart need-based training to engg. professionals,students and unemployed youth.
2.To offer part-time, full time and informal programmes to upgrade the management skills.
3.To conduct training for professionals and executives in industry.
4.To develop and publish training materials for regular and distance education programmes.
5.To offer job-oriented courses to all segments of society.
6.To undertake such other activities as are relevant to fulfil the objectives of the centre.

The courses are conducted on a self-supporting basis. The courses organized by the CEC include Orientation Courses on LINUX desktop, C-Programming, MATLAB and Spreadsheet, Communicative Skill and Personality Development etc.

To disseminate the importance and significance of utilization of alternate energy sources, especially solar energy, an Energy Park has been set up in the institution with the assistance from Ministry of Non-conventional Energy Sources, Govt. of India. The Energy Park is being managed and maintained by the Mechanical Engineering Department. Sri. Jose Augustine, Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering is the staff-in-charge of the Energy Park. The following are installed in the Energy Park:

 Energy & Environment Conservation Club (EECC)                                  Top

Energy & Environment Conservation Club (EECC) is functioning in our institution. The President of the EECC is Prof. C. P. Sunil Kumar, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering.
EECC has the following objectives:
  · To create awareness about conservation of energy, water and environment
   
resources among the students of engineering and the youth at large.
  · To enable students to organize suitable programmes for propagation of energy and
    and environmental conservation among all sections of population.
  · To instill interest in students about sustainable development , judicial use of resources
    and development of cost effective technologies for harnessing new and renewable
    sources of energy.
  · To conduct competitions in elocution, painting, quiz, poster design, drama, essay
    writing, poetry etc., highlighting the concepts of energy & environmental    
    conservation 
  · To conduct Energy Audits, Seminars, Workshops, Energy Education and Motivation
     Programmes.
  · To enable students to formulate and implement suitable projects for conservation of 
     renewable energy resources, local energy resources and water resources.

EECC had celebrated World Environment Day on June 5, planting saplings, conducting exhibition of energy saving equipment and organizing talks by experts in energy & environment areas.

The Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) is a national, professional, non-profit making Society registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860. The major objective of the ISTE is to assist and contribute in the production and development of top quality professional engineers and technicians needed by the industries and other organisations. Being the only national organisation of educators in the field of Engineering and Technology, ISTE effectively contributes in various missions of the Union Government. The Ministry of Human Resource Development, AICTE/DST/MIT/State Govts. are well associated with the ISTE for programmes relating to technical education. The College Chapter of ISTE organizes seminars, workshops, discussions, invited lectures on the fields of engineering, technology and management.

IEEE STUDENT CHAPTER

A student chapter of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers USA is functioning in our college with a motto to create awareness on the budding engineers on the latest in technological innovations. The student chapter conducts a host of activities including Technical Quizzes, Design Contest, and Symposiums etc.

IICHE STUDENT CHAPTER
A student chapter of the Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers is functioning in the Chemical Engineering Dept. The Chapter conducts seminars, expert lectures, Industrial visit in association with the Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers Kochi Chapter.
