I have great pleasure in announcing that the Government Engineering College , Thrissur is completing 50 years of its glorious existence next year and we are planning to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of the college on a grand scale in 2007-2008. The college is very proud of its distinguished alumni who are at the helm of affairs of various establishments both national and international. These 50 years have seen several eminent teachers and technical staff who were instrumental in giving the college a strong footing and who set the pace for its onward growth and development. I hope that the golden Jubilee celebrations will provide a forum for a happy reunion of our alumni and former faculty for a lively interaction with the present students and staff in the college. An open house exhibition , an international conference on an interdisciplinary area, golden jubilee series of lectures by eminent technocrats, an opportunity fair for engineers, national level arts-sports-cultural festival for students, national technical meet for students, alumni meet , alumni-student interaction programmes, construction of a golden jubilee structure as a monument .... are some of the plans on the agenda. Ideas, suggestions, and whole hearted cooperation are solicited. |
